Our website will be down for maintenance from 15:00 on 2023/5/29（Mon.）. The service suspension may change depending on situation. During maintenance, urgent messages will be posted on Facebook and Twitter.

You can still use HERMES-Search, HERMES-Catalog, MyLibrary, and HERMES-IR. You can still use databases also via the Databases List and e-journals via the title list or HERMES-Search. Some electronic resources are available from off-campus. When you access an e-resource from off-campus via the library’s respective search system, the Hitotsubashi Authentication ID Single Sign-On login screen will appear. Enter your Hitotsubashi Authentication ID and password to log in. We thank you for your understanding.

In response to recent increases in fuel prices, the Reading Room will be closed on the following dates to conserve electricity and energy.

  • Saturdays and Sundays during examination periods (May 27-28, July 15-16, October 28-29, December 16-17)
  • Weekdays during vacation periods (August 5 – September 10, February 6 – March 31, 2024)

Please use other reading seats on the days when the Reading Room is closed.

As the University has reduced its Activity Policy Level to “Level 0″, we are removing restrictions on library use effective May 8.
If usage restrictions are reinstated, we will notify you again.

Reading Seats

  • The seating restriction will be lifted. Please use the Clock Tower Commons or Group Study Rooms if you need to talk.
  • The number of PC seats will continue to be reduced to conserve electricity.

Group Study Rooms

  • The maximum number of users is increased from 6 to 10.
  • Acrylic partitions are removed.

Clock Tower Commons

  • Tables, chairs and other furniture can be moved.
  • Acrylic partitions are removed.

Restricted Access for Alumni and Visitors

  • Restrictions on access to the building during busy periods will be lifted.
    However, during busy periods such as exam periods, the Hitotsubashi University Library may restrict use of the library in accordance with the provisions of Article 18.2 of the Hitotsubashi University Library Usage Regulations.
