Remote Access

Some e-resources (e-journals, e-books, databases) are available from off-campus. Follow the steps below.

Access via MyLibrary

  1. Log in to MyLibrary.
  2. Make sure that the “Remote Access Database Menu" pop-up window opens.

  3. Check the e-resources available from off-campus by the following method.
    • databases labeled as “Free" or “Remote access available (via MyLibrary)" in the Database List
    • e-journals and e-books labeled as “キャンパス外アクセス可" in the e-Journal/e-Book List
  • After logging in to MyLibrary, you can also access them via HERMES-Search search results or HERMES-Link.
  • You can also access e-books from the HERMES-Catalog.
If the pop-up window does not open

If the “Remote Access Database Menu" pop-up window does not open in step 2 above, you need to remove the pop-up blocker in your browser settings. If you get an error message, please allow pop-ups on this site (

  • If you remove the pop-up blocker and still the “Remote Access Database Menu" does not open, try to close the browser and reopen it.
  • Please refer to the following pages for the settings on each browser.

    • Microsoft Edge
      1. Click the Settings menu (…) in the upper right corner of the Microsoft Edge screen, and then select “Settings" from the menu that appears.
      2. From the “Settings" screen, select “Cookies and data stored".
      3. In the “Site permissions" screen, scroll down and select “Pop-ups and redirects".
      4. On the “Pop-ups and redirects" screen, click “Add" under “Allow".
      5. Enter “" in the “Add a site" field and click “Add".
      6. Restart Microsoft Edge.

Login with ID and password [Juris / Lexis]

Juris (a full-text database of German and EU laws and precedent-related materials) and Lexis (a database that provides reliable overseas law information centered on US law) are available from off-campus by issuing an ID and password.

How to apply

Please fill out the application form for each database and submit it to the following email address. Based on the content of the application, we will request the database provider to issue an ID and password for remote access. We will contact you by email as soon as your ID and password are issued.


  • Target persons: Faculty, staff, and students at Hitotsubashi University
  • Required document: Juris Application From PDF / Word


  • Target persons: Only full time faculty, staff and regular students (excluding credited auditors, non-degree students, etc.) at Hitotsubashi University
  • Required document: Lexis Application From PDF / Word

  • Some e-resources are not available from off-campus.
  • Eligible e-resources are subject to change at any time.
  • Due to system restrictions, the functions of e-resources may not be fully available.
  • If a large amount of data is downloaded or displayed on the browser, the error message “File missing:docs/suspend.htm" will be displayed and remote access will become unavailable. If you see this message, please wait for about an hour before trying to access again. Please download only what you need immediately.
