LIBRARY SERVICES AFTER MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2020

Chiyoda Campus Library was temporarily closed from April 10 through June 12 to prevent the spread of the COVID-19. Since Monday, June 15, The faculty members and the students of the university have been able to borrow books on request in advance.

After Monday, September 14, stacks are accessible to the faculty and students, and borrowing requests in advance are no longer required. Some carrels are available on request in advance only for reading non-circulating materials such as master theses and journal issues. A networked desktop PC and a PC for Japanese legal journals DVDs are available on request in advance. Please read the description below to make a request for a carrel or a PC.

Only the staff entrance is accessible. Please present the ID card before entering the library.

Please refrain from entering the library if you are unwell, such as fever, cough, feeling lethargic, or loss of smell and taste.

Users are required to wear masks.

Please refrain from staying for long time.

HOURS
11:30am-2:30pm, 3:30pm-6:30pm (until Sep. 11)
1:15pm-4:00pm, 5:00pm-8:15pm (after Sep. 14)
excepting Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays and from Dec. 27 through Jan. 4
(Users must leave the library at the closing times.)

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ITEMS
The maximum numbers of items that may be checked out for students are temporarily relaxed as follows
Graduate students: 60 items
Undergraduate students: 20 items

MAKING REQUEST FOR A CARREL
Please send a request via e-mail to cyd-lib-ml at ad.hit-u.ac.jp with the subject “CARREL REQUEST” before the previous day of use including:
(1) Name
(2) Student ID or Faculty/Staff number
(3) The date and time (1:30pm-4:00pm or 5:30pm-8:00pm)

(4) Material (such as ‘Master theses’ and ‘Journal issues’)

MAKING REQUEST FOR A DESKTOP PC
Please send a request via e-mail to cyd-lib-ml at ad.hit-u.ac.jp with the subject “PC REQUEST” before the previous day of use including:
(1) Name
(2) Student ID or Faculty/Staff number
(3) The date and time (1:30pm-4:00pm or 5:30pm-8:00pm)
(4) Purpose of use (such as ‘Use of  [database name]’ and ‘Japanese legal journals DVDs’)

ONLINE SEARCH FOR MASTER THESES (BIBLIOGRAPHIC INFORMATION AND CALL NUMBERS) FROM OFF-CAMPUS
1. Log in to MyLibrary from the link on the main library website home page.

2. Two windows appear. Click on ‘HERMES-Catalog’ on the list on ‘Remote Access Database Menu’ window.

BOOK RETURN
Please return the items at the library service desk during the library hours.

  • Vacation periods(Dec. 23-26, 2019, Jan. 14-28, Feb. 3, Feb. 5, Feb. 7, Feb. 13-Apr. 3, 2020): 11:30am – 2:30pm , 3:30pm – 6:30pm

  • Items may be renewed 3 times unless the item is reserved or a borrowed item is overdue.

Book Delivery Requests

The university members may make requests for delivery of books (excepting non-cirulating materials) to the main library via HERMES or MyLibrary.
Items are dispatched twice a week (usually Mondays and Thursdays).

Visitors

In-library use and photocopying (40yen per sheet) only

Photocopy

There is a card-operated photocopier for graduate students in the library (to be used only for library materials).
The copyright law should be observed.

Photocopy Delivery Requests

The university members may make requests for delivery of photocopies to the main library via MyLibrary (20yen per sheet).
Items are dispatched twice a week (usually Mondays and Thursdays).
