“Gunpai Kumiai” Archiv

In the Central China during W.W.II, Naka Shina Gunpyo Koukanyou Bussi Haikyu Kumiai (a.k.a Gunpai Kumiai, established in August 1939, dissolved in July 1944) handled distribution of supplies in order to maintain value of Gunpyo. The collection has conference minute, rule book, business log, account ledgers, reports which was confidential as military documents at that time.

These were sent to Research Institute of East Asia Economies  of Tokyo University of Commerce in 1944 since Gunpai Kumiai requestes to put them together as it’s history and use them for study about ‘Middle China’ economic history.

According to ‘Report on editing Gunpai history project’ (letters from Yamaguchi Sigeru and Amari Chozo to Kobori Yasuyuki) in March 1945, they archived documents and edited Gunpai history as project by Tokyo University of Commerce. Catalog card and ‘Catalog of Gunpaikin documents’ seems to an achievement of the project, however cataloging rules and guidelines to create the catalog card are unknown.
