This survey is conducted to determine the priority order of titles to be contracted for FY2027 through FY2029.

Considering factors such as the weak yen and ongoing annual cost increases, the library has decided to strive to preserve electronic journal package contracts as much as possible. We will

also maintain a list of individual journal titles and databases ranked by usage. This list, which we named the “Maintenance Policy List," will be used to determine which titles to continue when there is a budget constraint.
For journals for which usage data cannot be obtained, mainly print editions, the library will conduct a usage survey, and the results will be adopted as the “Maintenance Policy List*."

This survey reflects the trial survey conducted in July 2025, and based on its results, the priority order for contracting foreign journal titles from FY2027 onward will be determined. We appreciate your cooperation.

* “Maintenance Policy List" is a list of individually contracted foreign journal titles arranged in order of usage frequency, used to determine contracted titles from the top according to the allocated budget.

Target participants: Students and faculty members of Hitotsubashi University who have an email address ending in “g.hit-u.ac.jp" or “r.hit-u.ac.jp."

Scope: Approximately 190 foreign journal titles in print format for which usage data cannot be obtained
(Includes about 20 electronic journal titles for which usage data is unavailable.)

Response Method:
Select, via radio buttons, the titles of print journals that you used by visiting the library at least once during the period from January 1 to December 31, 2025.

Survey Period: January 21 – February 16, 2026 at noon

Vote here.

*Please make sure to log in using an address that ends with “g.hit-u.ac.jp" or “r.hit-u.ac.jp".
