HERMES-IR (Hitotsubashi Educational and Research MEdia Service-Institutional Repository) is an archive which stores digital copies of research outputs and collections of the University. Hitotsubashi University Library follows necessary copyright protection procedures as contents are digitally processed and released on the Internet.

We would like to inform that abstracts attached with research outputs featured mainly in the University publications (i.e. journals, discussion papers, working papers) are going to be open to parties outside the University such as research database providers. We ask authors of abstracts to kindly understand that the purpose of disclosure is to further increase discoverability of the University’s research outputs, and to give permission to the use of abstracts as described below. If the author does NOT permit use of any abstract(s), they are asked to contact us by Friday, March 31st, 2022.

Please note that “permission of use” refers to reproduction rights and public transmission rights included in copyrights. Copyrights will not be transferred by giving permission to the above. For further details, see below.

About Renewal

  • Users can renew materials already borrowed into the long-term loan period, unless the materials are overdue or have been reserved by another user.
  • Using MyLibrary, users can view their checked-out or reserved items and renew their loans.
  • When using MyLibrary, users can renew into the long-term loan period from 9 a.m. on January 28.

Due to the Common Test for University Admissions, the Library will be closed on January 15 and 16, 2022.

19,000 academic ebooks included in Oxford Scholarship Online are now available. Oxford Scholarship Online provides academic ebooks from Oxford University Press, spanning 27 subject areas. New titles will come up every month.

Oxford Scholarship Online does not cover handbooks, dictionaries and encyclopedias.

The library will choose ebooks when you send a purchasing request for the title within this package during this period as long as the contracted amount does not exceed. After the period, titles to be purchased are determined based on the usage reports indicating which titles are the most popular within the university during the period under an EBA model.
