Due to the entrance examination for Hitotsubashi University, the Library will be closed on the following schedule.

• February 25 and 26, 2022
• March 12, 2022
• March 22, 2022 *If supplementary exam is not held, the library will be open.
• March 23, 2022 *Even if supplementary exam is not held, the library will be closed.

In addition, we may be late with the response to some applications and inquiries.

Due to the lightning work in the Periodicals Annex, using of the reading area and bookshelves will be restricted during following schedule. Also, some noise may occur.

• On 2/12 (Sat.), staff will not be available retrieving books on B1F.
• On 2/21 (Mon.) and 22 (Tue.), you may enter the 1F, but it will be dark and there may be equipment in the corridors. Please use with caution.
• On 2/25 (Fri.) and 26 (Sat.), the library main building and the Periodicals Annex will be closed all day for the entrance examinations.

Retrieval by Staff

If the “How to use" column indicate “Retrieval by Staff", please fill in the book borrowing slip and apply at the counter before 5 p.m.. The application received after 5 p.m., you will not be able to use.

If you know in advance that you will use materials on a restricted floor, please apply accordance with “Reserving Stack Area Materials."

2/11: Library may be closed if a alarm is issued in Kunitachi City as follows, or if the JR Chuo lines and JR Nambu lines including the area of Kunitachi City are suspended.

1. If an alarm is issued in Kunitachi City as of 7:00 a.m.
   The library will be temporarily closed from the regular opening time until 1:00 p.m.
2. If an alarm is issued in Kunitachi City as of 11:00 a.m.
   The library will be temporarily closed from 1:00 p.m. to the regular closing time.
3. If an alarm is issued in Kunitachi City at 1:00 p.m.
   The library will be temporarily closed from 3:00 p.m. to the regular closing time.
4. If an alarm is issued in Kunitachi City at 3:00 p.m.
   The library will be temporarily closed from 5:00 p.m. to the regular closing time.

You can still use HERMES-Search, HERMES-Catalog, MyLibrary, and HERMES-IR. You can still use databases also via the Databases List and e-journals via the title list or HERMES-Search. Some electronic resources are available from off-campus. Please access via MyLibrary.

As the University has raised its activity guideline level to “Level 3", the Group Study Rooms will be temporarily closed from January 29, 2022.

We will maintain the current opening hours and number of seats for the time being, but we may change our services in the future depending on the situation. If there are any changes, we will announce them on the website.

In order to prevent the spread of infection, please observe the following precautions when visiting the library.

• Please refrain from entering the library if you are unwell, such as fever (37.5℃ or higher), cough, or feeling lethargic.
• You must wear a mask. If you do not wear it, you will not be allowed to enter.
• Please wash your hands or disinfect your fingers.
• There are disinfectants for the desk on each floor. Please disinfect by yourself when using the reading seat.

HERMES-IR (Hitotsubashi Educational and Research MEdia Service-Institutional Repository) is an archive which stores digital copies of research outputs and collections of the University. Hitotsubashi University Library follows necessary copyright protection procedures as contents are digitally processed and released on the Internet.

We would like to inform that abstracts attached with research outputs featured mainly in the University publications (i.e. journals, discussion papers, working papers) are going to be open to parties outside the University such as research database providers. We ask authors of abstracts to kindly understand that the purpose of disclosure is to further increase discoverability of the University’s research outputs, and to give permission to the use of abstracts as described below. If the author does NOT permit use of any abstract(s), they are asked to contact us by Friday, March 31^st, 2022.

Please note that “permission of use” refers to reproduction rights and public transmission rights included in copyrights. Copyrights will not be transferred by giving permission to the above. For further details, see below.
