Mailing services of the library materials

For students and faculty members of Hitotsubashi University who live or stay in areas other than the following four prefectures, we will provide mailing service of the library materials. We will open the application forms from 9:00 A.M. Monday, August 17, 2020.

Target

Students and faculty members of Hitotsubashi University who have difficulty visiting the library and who wish to receive library books in areas other than the following four prefectures.

Period

Monday, August 17, 2020 –

Available materials

  • Books located at Library, Chiyoda Campus Library and Kodaira Research Library and Archives
  • Books which can be checked out (except binded journals)

Quantity

  • 3 books per person
  • Included in maximum number of books available for checkout
  • As soon as the return processing is completed at the library, you can apply other books

Loan period

  • Normal period + 5 days
  • The books subject to long-term lending are adapted for the period

Fee

  1. The library will bear the shipping charges.
  2. Please pay the return shipping fee in the same way as the return by mail.

Note

  • Those who have overdue materials cannot apply. First, please return them.
  • We will stop the service as soon as we reach the budget limit.
  • Applications may conflict. Please note that you may not be able to use it immediately even if it is available for loan at the time of application.
  • We will process the checkout before shipping. Please note that there is a time lag between the loan date and receiving. You can check the loan date and due date on MyLibrary.
  • The books to be rented out are important assets of the university. Please be sure to specify an address that you can receive.
  • We don’t mail other library’s materials. Apply via MyLibrary and receive them at Helpdesk.

How to apply

  1. Please apply from the Application form for mailing books. We will open the application form from 9:00 A.M. Monday, August 17, 2020. Please check the HERMES-Catalog for the information required for application.
  2. We will ship in order of reception. As soon as it is shipped, we will send a shipping notification email to the email address you entered. You cannot specify the arrival date.

Mailing photocopies

Available materials

  • Materials belong to the Library, Chiyoda Campus Library, Kodaira Research Preservation Library, and Social Science Classic Materials Center (copied within the limits of the Copyright Law)
  • Up to 5 documents per person during the period

Fee

  • Copying fee: Black & white 20 yen/sheet, Color 60 yen/sheet
  • Please pay the transfer fee.
  • The university will pay for the shipping.
  • If you want to pay the copying fee with public expenses (including external funds), enter the budget information in the comments field.

Note

  • Please specify the bibliographic information in advance. If you are not sure, please use HERMES-Search, CiNii Articles (for domestic articles), Web of Science (for overseas articles), etc. If you cannot identify the bibliographic information, please contact us via Ask a librarian.
  • We don’t mail photocopies of other library’s materials. Apply via MyLibrary and receive them at Helpdesk.
  • As a general rule, we copy as spreads to the sheet matches the size of the material.
  • Cancellations after application and refusal of payment will not be accepted.

How to apply

  1. Please apply from the application form for mailing photocopies. We will open the application form from 9:00 A.M. Monday, August 17, 2020. Please check HERMES-Catalog for information on the materials required for the application.
  2. We will copy the materials in the order in which they were received. Once the price has been confirmed, we will send a email to the email address you entered. It may take some time depending on the form of the material and the quantity you want to copy.
  3. Please transfer the fee to the designated account of the University, and reply with the image of the transfer copy or the screenshot showing that the transfer has been completed by email attachment.
  4. After confirming the transfer details, we will send a copy by ordinary mail. The arrival date cannot be specified.
